The Senate passed a bill out of the Public Health Committee this week that could allow people suffering from neurological conditions or addiction to receive Ibogaine treatment, while killing another bill that would allow terminally ill patients to receive medical cannabis gummies while being treated in a hospital.

Freed-Hardeman struck first with a four-run opening inning, highlighted by an RBI single from R. Locke and a three-run homer off the bat of L. Brown. The Lions continued to threaten with base hits in the following frames but were unable to add to their early advantage.

After three weeks of baseball, Southern Miss is 10-1 and has slid into the top 10 at No. 10 in the D1Baseball.com rankings, No. 12 by Baseball America and No. 8 by Perfect Game. The Golden Eagles have beaten Oregon State, won a series against UC Santa Barbara and are coming off a loud sweep of Louisiana Tech.
In fact, they beat Louisiana Tech so convincingly this weekend that Bulldogs head coach Lane Burroughs apologized to the Tech fan base after the series.

An excellent medical column in The Washington Post predicts the next target in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s anti-vaccine campaign. At the same time, the column debunks the claim that this target is hazardous to children’s health.
Dr. Leana S. Wen, an emergency physician and clinical associate professor at George Washington University, believes Kennedy, the Health and Human Services secretary, may seek the removal of “aluminum salts” from vaccines. He claims this ingredient can cause conditions from autism to asthma to food allergies.

I'll never forget the first time I cast my ballot in an election. That would have been 1975 when I voted for Republican Gil Carmichael, who ran against Democrat Cliff Finch for governor. I'm sad to say my candidate lost, but I don't remember Mr. Carmichael shouting that the reason he lost was because of voter fraud.

Hattiesburg Police Department (HPD) received a gift that will keep on giving on Thursday from the Pearl River Community College’s (PRCC) Welding Program. Officer David Matos partnered with the program a year ago to begin the project designed to replace an older grill that was no longer usable.

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — No. 2 Pearl River baseball erased a nine-run first-inning deficit to stun No. 19 Northwest Florida State 10-9 in the opener Saturday before the Raiders claimed the nightcap 9-6, splitting a wild doubleheader at Dub Herring Park.
With the game one victory, Pearl River secured a series victory against the perennial powerhouse Raiders.

Southern Miss baseball head coach Christian Ostrander earned his 100th win as head skipper of the Golden Eagles. The milestone came in just 137 games at Southern Miss.
That is the fastest any head coach has reached the mark in Golden Eagle baseball history, ahead of Pete Taylor (163), Scott Berry (165), Corky Palmer (168) and Hill Denson (230).
