Petal officials move funds around to begin projects with 3 percent tax increase monies

The Petal Board of Alderman recently voted to move around more than $3 million in funds that will, in part, allow the city to begin using the recently-implemented 3 percent tax increase at Petal restaurants for several projects at the Robert E. Russell Sports Complex on Hillcrest Drive.

Cub Scouts to host expanded Scouting for Food event to benefit Edwards Street Fellowship Center and Homes of Hope for Children

At the inaugural local Scouting for Food event in November 2020, Cub Scout Pack 90 set up shop at two Corner Market locations, where they where they raised 2,867 pounds of nonperishable food and $365 for Edwards Street Fellowship Center in Hattiesburg.
