Hattiesburg man arrested for armed robbery, charged with murder in connection to fatal shooting on Franklin Street

On June 3, Hattiesburg police arrested an individual in connection to an armed robbery that occurred just before midnight.

Patrick Lee, 43, of Hattiesburg, was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery in connection to the incident that occurred on Miller Street.

Man dies after machinery accident at Mar-Jac Poultry

Just after 11:30 p.m. on May 31, Hattiesburg police were notified of a workplace accident that occurred at Mar-Jac Poultry at 1301 James Street.

Upon arriving, officers learned that a man was injured in an apparent accident involving a piece of heavy machinery. He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Officials identify dead female found at Duncan Lake; death ruled as homicide

Officials have released the identity of the woman who was recently found deceased at Duncan Lake in Hattiesburg.

After a preliminary autopsy at the Mississippi State Crime Lab, Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the woman as Lashaun Collins of Hattiesburg. Collins, who was also known as Shaun, was 37 years old.
