Memorial service for Mr. Willie Davis Jr., 58, were held on January 31 at 2pm at Beck Funeral Home of Louisville. Nicole Davis and Dr. Benjamin Pittman officiated.
Native of Louisville, Mr. Davis was born in 1967. He died on January 15, 2026.
Survivors include his mother, Clytee G. Davis; daughters, Nia Rose, Alyssa and Kay; sons, Tony and Ryan; brothers, Jerry Gill, Clyde Davis and Anthony Davis; sisters, Linda Davis, Elizabeth Smith, Shirley Davis and Evelyn Davis; 2 grandchildren and other family and friends.

Program Chair, Terry Woods, invited fellow Rotarian Michael Nester, CEO of Winston Medical Center, to give the Louisville Rotary an update on all the wonderful things going on at Winston Medical Center on February. WMC offers various types of occupational and physical therapy, a wound care center, upgraded imaging, and so much more. “We appreciate Mr. Nester sharing this information with us today,” said Rotary Club members.

Services for Ralph Redditt Phillips of Coila will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Coila.
Mr. Phillips, 63, died Friday, Jan. 30, at his sister's home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. at the church.
The Rev. Howard E. Newton will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Coila.

Janie Haining Shepherd-Wells, age 92, a resident of Waynesville, NC and Winona, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29 at her home. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and educator who lived life fully.
Born on Dec. 19, 1933, in Yazoo City, she was the daughter of the late Walton and Hazel Haining. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dacus Haining and her first husband, Bill Shepherd.

Funeral services for Ida Stoker Nelms, of Vaiden, were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 in the Oliver Funeral Home chapel, with burial following in at Milligan Springs Cemetery near Kilmichael. The committal service will be held in the chapel, immediately following the funeral service. The Rev. Bobby Palmertree officiated the services. Pallbearers were Marcus Ward, Ronnie Hambrick, William Wylie, and Richard Stoker.
Visitation was on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 1 p.m. until service the time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Delia Johnson “Didi” Mitchell were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Philip Ellis and Rev. Gene Richards will officiated the services. The committal service was held in the chapel.
Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 30 from 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
Delia J. Mitchell, resident of Saltillo, died after an extended illness on Jan. 22, at the age of 69.

Robert Timothy “Tim” Laster died Jan. 21, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a brief battle with a vicious form of cancer. He was 59 years old.
A lifelong resident of Duck Hill, Tim was born in Winona on Sept. 29, 1966, to Robert Gary Laster and the former Marion McCuiston. He quickly became the “apple of the eyes” of his grandparents, Mungo and Lilly McCuiston and Harris and Frances Laster, of Duck Hill. The Laster’s got a bonus three days later when their granddaughter, Angela Kay, was born. Tim and Angie formed a special bond that was only broken by Tim’s passing.

Mr. Jerry Ronald Rosamond, 81, of Winona, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born December 10, 1944, to George Mease Rosamond and Abby Inez Evans Rosamond.
Jerry retired after many years of dedicated service as a machine repairman with Packard-Delphi. A faithful member of Moore Memorial Methodist Church in Winona, he valued his church family and the fellowship it provided.
