CLEVELAND, Miss. – Both men's and women's swim teams finished 5th at the Delta State University invite this weekend.
Mate Miszlai was the top and most consistent performer on the men's side. Miszlai competed in seven races and finished in the top four in all of them. His top result came as he finished first in the 200-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:46.64. Miszlai also had two second place finishes in the 200-yard & 400-yard Individual Medley with times of 1:49.32 & 3:53.62 respectively. His final top three finish came as he finished third in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay alongside Janos Szabo, Josiah Blankenship, & Braedan Jacobs in a time of 3:04.10.
As well as the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, Jacobs also placed in the top 6 in his three other races. Jacobs had another third-place finish in 1650-yard Freestyle, posting a time of 16:01.49.
Eszter Kardos showed out on the women's side. Kardos placed in the top 10 in all eight of her races. This was highlighted by three third place finishes. She placed third individually in the 200-yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:22.40. Kardos also placed third in two relays. Kardos, alongside Grace Funck, Eva Mangiaracina, & Bisma Khan, placed third in the 200-yard Medley-Relay with a time of 1:49.75 and in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:42.67.
Grace Funck wasn't far behind Kardos, finishing inside the top 10 in seven of her eight races. Funck's best finishes came alongside Kardos, placing third in the 200-yard Medley Relay and 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Funck's best individual finish came in 200-yard backstroke as she finished fourth in 2:10.91.
