The Hattiesburg Tigers are the new No. 1 team in the state, according to the Associated Press Poll, which is voted on by members of the AP media in Mississippi and includes PineBeltSPORTS.
Although Horn Lake received the most first-place votes, Hattiesburg had three more total votes to claim the top stop. Hattiesburg received three of the nine first-place votes in the overall poll and eight of the nine in the 5A poll.
In he 4A Poll, Sumrall got the seventh most votes, and Lumberton remains No. 2 in 1A.
