Southern Pines Animal Shelter is hosting a fee-waived Dog Days of Summer adoption event highlighting their adult dogs who are in need of loving homes. This event, which began on August 5th, will run until Sunday August 13th, and all available adult dogs onsite at the shelter will have their adoption fees waived, meaning they will be totally free to adopt. With almost 20 adult dogs with a variety of lovable personalities and energy levels available for adoption, there are plenty of pups who might be the one you’ve been waiting for.
This adoption special is made possible by a lifesaving grant from Petco Love and by donations from the shelter’s community of supporters.
“There’s nothing we love more than bringing people and pets together and witnessing the joy, hope and love that comes from the human-animal bond,” said Ginny Sims, Executive Director of the Southern Pines Organization. “If you’ve been considering adding a canine companion to your family, we hope you’ll come on out to the shelter this weekend and meet the dog you’ve been waiting for. We’re so grateful to both Petco Love and to our community for making this adoption event possible.”
Pets adopted from Southern Pines have received age-appropriate vaccines, flea/wormer medication, heartworm preventative (dogs only), and they will also be microchipped and fixed prior to going home with their new families. A collar and an engraved ID tag are available to purchase for $10 at the time of adoption. If adopters do not have a leash with which to get their new pet home, Southern Pines will have leashes available for a small fee.
