The completion of the 2025 Southern Miss football schedule was made Friday morning with the announcement of Sun Belt Conference game dates.
In a year in which the Golden Eagles play seven home games – the first time since 2020 – Southern Miss opens the year with non-conference foes Mississippi State (Aug. 30) and Jackson State (Sept. 6), before beginning league play at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium on week three with App State (Sept. 13).
Southern Miss plays host to two in-state opponents for the first time since playing Ole Miss and Mississippi State in 1976 at Roberts Stadium. They also welcome App State to the Hub City for the first time since 2014.
The Golden Eagles then renew their Conference USA rivalry at Louisiana Tech (Sept. 20) before returning home to face Jacksonville State (Sept. 27) for the second-straight year. The Golden Eagles next return to Sun Belt play with a Thursday night contest at Georgia Southern, Oct. 9.
The Golden Eagles then stay on the road at Louisiana (Oct. 18), before finishing the month of October with homecoming against ULM (Oct. 25).
The final month of the regular season sees the Golden Eagles play at Arkansas State (Nov. 8), play host to Texas State (Nov. 15), travel to South Alabama (Nov. 22) and then finish the regular season at The Rock against Troy (Nov. 29).
The league championship game will take place Dec. 6.
Kickoff times and networks for all midweek games and weekend games in the first three weeks of the season will be selected in late May. All other games will fall into the traditional 12-day selection process.
