94, of Hattiesburg

Thomas B. Barge died Oct. 1, 2019. Services were Oct. 4 with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Barge was a retired surveyor and a member of Court Street Methodist Church.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

Barbara B. Cedotal

80, of Amarillo, Texas

Barbara Breazeale Cedotal died Oct. 9, 2019, at her home. Services were Oct. 13 at Jones and Son Chapel in Hattiesburg with burial in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters, Angelia Stevison of Gulfport and Paige Reinke of Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter and one grandson; one great-grandson; step-grandchildren, Ray Stevison, Brandon Stevison, Merissa Marshall, Dakota Reinke and Courtney Druary; sister, Patsy Smith of Purvis and brother, Wesley Breazeale of Purvis.

Eleanor L. Engberg

82, of Hattiesburg

Eleanor “Elly” L. Engberg died Oct. 12, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Forrest Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. A celebration of Elly’s life for family and friends will immediately follow the service at 11 Woods Edge N., Hattiesburg.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Warren Engberg; children, Shelly Engberg Benson, Steve Engberg, David and Joyce Engberg; one granddaughter;  three great-grandsons; sisters Phyllis Wefel, Audrey Hamann, Jenny Holmes.

Leigh Ann Fullen

39, of Hattiesburg

Leigh Ann Fullen died Oct. 10, 2019, at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Ms. Fullen was a traveling salesperson in the chemical industry. She was also employed at the University of Southern Mississippi for seven years.

Survivors include her mother, Diane Knight of Brooklyn; step-father, Joseph Michael Knight of Brooklyn; a step-son, Caleb Jordan of Purvis; two sisters, Nikie Knight of Richton, Penny Garner of New Augusta; a brother, “Bubba” Corey of Hattiesburg.

Clara Belle Holder

69, of Moselle

Clara Belle Holder died Oct. 3, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital. Services were Oct. 7.

Mrs. Holder was born to the Rev. Jesse and Cordelle Edwards in Columbia on June 2, 1950. She was a founding member of Living Water Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Holder of Moselle; four daughters, Katie Hill of Hattiesburg, Kim Romero of Lake Charles, La., Benita Pipkins of Hattiesburg, and Linda Boliver of Moselle; two brothers, Allen Ray Edwards of Sandy Hook and Jesse Ralph Edwards of Tylertown; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

David Wayne Jones

62, of Petal

David Wayne Jones died  Oct. 13, 2019, at his home. Services were Oct. 17 with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Jones of Petal; his three daughters; his two step-daughters; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Douglas Allen Kahl

30, of Perkinston

Douglas Allen Kahl died  Oct. 10, 201,9 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Graveside services were Oct. 16 at Kahl Family Cemetery.

Mr. Kahl was born on July 6, 1989, in Biloxi.

Survivors include his father, Douglas Edward Kahl; his mother, Julie Prevost Kahl; stepmom, Alisa Kahl; two sisters, Courtney Kahl Payne, Jayda Ann Kahl; one brother, Colby Kahl; grandparents, Bob and Laverne Kahl,s.

Elizabeth Ann Parrett

72, of Bassfield

Elizabeth Ann Parrett died Oct. 13, 2019. Services were Oct. 16 with burial in Bullock Cemetery.

Mrs. Parrett was a Baptist who retired from Hattiesburg Convalescent Home as a dietician.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Parrett of Petal; two daughters, Sissy Underwood of Petal, Tara Sullivan of Petal; fiancé, Mike Tucker of Bassfield; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


Thomas G. Roberts

78, of Hattiesburg

  Thomas G. "Tom" Roberts died Oct. 3, 2019. Graveside services were Oct. 8 at Roseland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Mr. Roberts was a former store manager of Radio Shack and member of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include is wife, Sally Roberts of Hattiesburg; two daughters and one son.

Patricia Smith

55, of Purvis

Patricia Smith died Oct. 10, 2019, at her home. Services were Oct. 13 at Purvis Church of God with burial in Cherished Acres Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Smith; four children, Keirsten Head, Meagan Easley, Chad Smith, and Courtney Morris; her mother, Glenna Watts; three sisters, Debra Bounds, Tammy Wedgeworth, and Charlotte Brown; two brothers, Larry Watts and Wayne Watts; eight grandchildren.

Winnie C. Watkins

87, of New Augusta

Winnie C. Watkins died Oct. 9, 2019. Services were Oct. 15at First Baptist Church of New Augusta with burial in New Augusta Cemetery.

Mrs. Watkins was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of New Augusta.

Survivors include three sons, Richard B. Watkins and Robby E. Watkins, both of New Augusta, William Thad Watkins Jr. of North Carolina; one sister, Louise Sanderson of the Dixie Community; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Floy Annette S. Young

80, of Purvis

Floy Annette Saucier Young died Oct. 15, 2019. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Purvis Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with burial in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Purvis Chapel.

Mrs. Young was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Lanell Entrekin of Purvis, Joyce Garrigan of Purvis; two sons, Lavelle Young,Jr., Danny Young of Oak Grove; a sister-in-law, Connie Green of Purvis; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
