On Tuesday, December 3, The Salvation Army is excited to join the global Giving Tuesday movement, a day dedicated to the transformative power of generosity. While Black Friday and Cyber Monday focus on deals and discounts, this celebration of giving offers an opportunity to share kindness and love by helping others throughout the community.
“This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking our community to come together and be a beacon of hope for others,” said Major Fred Thornhill. “Every gift, no matter the size, has the power to turn someone’s struggles into a story of resilience. Together, we can make miracles happen.”
Through your support, The Salvation Army provides critical services to those facing hardship, including food, financial and holiday assistance. With many families in our community struggling to pay for groceries and utilities, The Salvation Army remains committed to helping and encouraging those in need. This mission is only possible through your generosity.
“Our hope is that everyone will be reminded that one act of kindness can produce a lifetime of change,” said Major Thornhill. “Whether it’s a coin in a kettle, volunteering to ring a bell, or just a simple act of kindness to a stranger, even the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference.”
