City of Hattiesburg
Drinking Water System Improvements Revolving Loan Fund

The City of Hattiesburg is applying for a State Revolving Fund Loan through the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) for water improvements. The total loan amount is $1,268,530.82 The improvements will include repairs to Water Treatment Plant No. 1, located near Old Highway 11, including:
Replacement of the filter media,
Re-roofing the buildings,
Replacement of the rapid mix tank, and
Replacement of the dry chemical feed system.
A public hearing to inform the public regarding the project will be held on June 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center at 220 West Front Street, Hattiesburg MS, 39403. A copy of the Facilities Plan is available in the office of the City of Hattiesburg located at 200 Forrest Street, Hattiesburg MS, 39403, and can be picked up at the front desk for review prior to the meeting, which will be held in the auditorium.
In light of public health concerns, new meeting parameters have been established. Visitors and members alike are encouraged to participate electronically. No more than 10 individuals will be allowed entrance into the meeting. Social distancing guidelines will be imposed. Individuals interested in attending the meeting are encouraged to do so electronically if at all possible.
