Pearl River women's soccer freshman Maud van Duren (Volkel, Netherlands) capped an impressive debut season by earning Second Team All-America honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association, the organization announced Tuesday.
Van Duren becomes an All-America selection after anchoring a Pearl River back line that delivered four clean sheets, two victories over ranked opponents and a Gulf South District Quarterfinal appearance.
A true defensive standout, van Duren's contributions didn't show up on the stat sheet, but her influence was undeniable. She helped the Wildcats become one of the toughest teams in the country to break down, while also adding one assist during the season.
Van Duren becomes the ninth NJCAA All-America selection in Pearl River women's soccer history, joining Mackenzie Winters (2nd Team; 2023), Lauren Bennett (2nd Team; 2022), Aníta Guðmundsdóttir (Honorable Mention; 2022), Lyndsey Lee (3rd Team; 2015), Emmaleigh Davis (1st Team; 2011), Breanna Fortenberry (Honorable Mention; 2009), Nikki Shows (2nd Team; 2006) and Erin Holder (2nd Team; 2005).
