The Rotary Club of Petal and the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce honored the 2019 MS Scholars and Tech Masters at a luncheon at the Petal Civic Center on Monday, April 29. Graduates and their guests were greeted by Rotary Club President, Sam Bilbo and Chamber Board past president Carrie Holeman.
Following lunch, the keynote speaker, Michael Marks, provided students with thoughts on the future ahead of them and their responsibilities.
This year 39 students qualified as MS Scholars and 29 qualified as Tech Masters. The program’s mission is to encourage and motivate all high school students to complete a defined, rigorous academic course of study that prepares them for successful transition to college, university coursework or vocational and technical training necessary to enter today’s competitive job market.
