The boyfriend of a missing Hattiesburg woman was charged with kidnapping on Tuesday in connection with her disappearance.
Demarcus McGruder, 32, of Laurel, had been picked up on an unrelated warrant out of Forrest County and was already being detained in the county jail when the additional charges were filed.
McGruder’s girlfriend, 25-year-old Falisa Carter, of Hattiesburg, was last seen around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25 at her residence on West 7th Street.
She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and gray tights.
Investigators are actively pursuing any and all leads that they have at this time, said Ryan Moore, HPD spokesman.
“We are asking the public, if anyone has any information, to please contact Hattiesburg Police or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP,” said Moore.
