Hattiesburg police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the early hours of Tuesday that resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old man on child abuse charges.
Upon responding to the scene on McCall Street, a female, and child (under the age of 12), were transported to a local hospital to be checked out for their injuries.
Arrested was Luis Garcia-Lebron, 29, of Hattiesburg. He was charged with two felony charges including domestic violence-aggravated assault and felonious abuse-battery of a child.
The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect was booked in the Forrest County Jail.
