Missing teen O'Neal returns home; police still searching for Jackson

By HASKEL BURNS,

A missing Hattiesburg teenager who alledgedly ran away in the company of a former teacher has returned home.

According to an email from Ryan Moore, public information officer at Hattiesburg Police Department, 16-year-old Oscar O'Neal II came back home Wednesday afternoon. Police are still looking for Nicole Jackson, 30, the former Earl Travillion Attendance Center teacher whom O'Neal was believed to be in the company of.

O'Neal's mother reported him missing April 30.

Jackson, a former reading and language teacher at Earl Travillion, turned herself in last month after police received details of an inappropriate relationship between Jackson and a student. She had recently resigned from the school.

Jackson was charged with sexual battery in a position of trust or authority, and is currently out on a $10,000 bond. Police have an active warrant for her arrest.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional interviews will be conducted.

Police are asking anyone with information on Jackson's whereabouts to call HPD or Metro Crime Stoppers at (601) 582-7867.
