Southern Miss softball coach Brian Levin has resigned, per source.
According to the source, Levin resigned due to family reasons. Notably, Levin’s contract expired on June 30, 2022.
In three seasons, Levin posted a 65-62 overall record and a 13-31 record in conference play. In two complete seasons, USM missed the conference tournament.
Since the 2017 season, the Golden Eagles have made the conference tournament just once.
This past year, Southern Miss finished 29-23 with a conference record of 9-15.
Levin’s tenure was meant with controversy in 2021 after 12 players left the program, nine of which left mid-season.
Southern Miss will immediately begin searching for its next coach.
