When it comes to local races in the upcoming November 7 general election, Lamar County residents will see the ballot taken up by a vast majority of Republicans – including positions of supervisors, chancery and circuit clerks, coroner and tax assessor – as many of those candidates were unopposed by other parties in the August 8 primary election.
Those local races will be decided along with several state offices, including governor, lieutenant governor, state treasurer, state auditor, attorney general, insurance commissioner and secretary of state. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on election day, and any registered voter who is in line by 7 p.m. For more information, call the Lamar County Circuit Clerk’s office at (601) 794-8504.
