On Thursday, July 14, 2022, Hattiesburg police and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics arrested a convicted felon on drug and weapon charges.
Ashton Dantzler, 32, of Purvis, was arrested near 4th Street and 25th Avenue after attempting to flee a traffic stop Thursday around 4:30 p.m.
Officers seized a weapon, marijuana, oxycodone, and $11,295 during the arrest.
Dantzler was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone), and as a fugitive with active warrants from another jurisdiction.
Dantzler was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
