On Sunday, July 10, 2022, Hattiesburg police responded to a three-vehicle traffic accident with injuries at Cross Creek Parkway and U.S. 98 around 12:30 p.m.
In total, three vehicles were involved: a 2013 Ford Escape collided with a 1986 Plymouth, and a 2016 Chevrolet was also damaged after the collision.
Two individuals were transported to a local hospital with injuries, and one of them later succumbed to their injuries.
The name of the deceased individual is pending notification of next of kin, according to the Lamar County Coroner’s Office.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
