ARRESTED: The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office (FSCO) arrested Willian Sanford Sr. (65) and William Sanford Jr. (28) both of Hattiesburg, on multiple charges, announced Sheriff Charlie Sims on Dec. 15.
Sanford Sr. is charged with one count of exploitation of a child and two counts of sexual battery. His son, Sanford Jr., is charged with hindering prosecution. Both men appeared in court for the first time on the 15th for a bond hearing; results were still pending at time of publication.

ARRESTED: Hattiesburg police officers arrested three people on Dec.13 in relation to a shooting on the 900 block of Main Street around noon that day.
Officers located Shyan Manzie (28), Ashley Cooper (30), both of Hattiesburg, and Deavonta Edmund (29), of Gulfport, along Ida Avenue in a vehicle that witnesses reported being involved in the shooting. They were immediately taken into custody.
Manzie is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count possession of a stolen firearm and one count possession of a firearm by a felon. Edmund is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count possession of a firearm by a felon. Cooper is charged with one count accessory after the fact of aggravated assault.
A 31-year-old male was injured in the shooting with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. No other injuries were reported.
ARRESTED: William Marshal (52), of Hattiesburg, was arrested on Dec. 10 after Hattiesburg police officers caught him in the act of stealing catalytic converters from trucks in a Hardy Street parking lot. Police responded to the scene just after midnight when a witness reported the theft to 911 operators.
Marshal attempted to elude officers by heading towards I-59 and Hardy Street, but he stopped on the 1-59 northbound ramp, where police took him into custody.
He is currently charged with one count of malicious mischief and has two active warrants in another jurisdiction. Additional charges are pending.
ARRESTED: Christopher James Walker, of Petal, was arrested on December 8 after a Forrest County grand jury indicted Walker on December 1 on two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes and one count of exploitation of a child.
Sheriff Sims announced the arrest on Dec. 9 after the capias the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office served the capias warrant. Indictments are secret until served on the suspect.
Walker is currently booked into the Forrest County Jail awaiting arraignment.
