The William Carey Men's Tennis clinched the SSAC Regular Season Title with a 7-0 victory over Loyola University Thursday afternoon at the Crusader Tennis Courts.
Carey secured the first point of match, winning all three doubles matches with Noah Rockstroh claiming the first point in singles 6-2, 6-2 to make it 2-0 Carey. Islam Orynbassar battled to a 7-5 win is set one before taking the match with a 6-3 win in set two.
Matt Shearer clinched the win with a three set victory at No. 2 singles. Shearer dropped the first set 4-6 but rebound, taking set two 6-2 and went on to take the match with a 6-3 win in the third set. Antoine Audrain, Louis Steinbichler, and Jean Nicolas Leblanc also won their matches.
Carey is back in action Saturday, April 13, as they travel to New Orleans, La. to take on Xavier University in non-conference action.
