It has not been a good few weeks for Southern Miss basketball.
After opening Sun Belt play 5–1 and holding sole possession of first place, the Golden Eagles dropped five straight games. That stretch was compounded earlier this month when the program faced an off-court setback involving a former player.
On Saturday afternoon, Southern Miss finally found its way back into the win column.
Behind a dominant second half from Tylik Weeks, the Golden Eagles snapped their five-game losing streak with a 73–65 win over James Madison at Reed Green Coliseum.
