Former four-star quarterback prospect Jaden Johnson announced his decision to transfer to Fort Scott Community College after entering the NCAA transfer portal.
The rising junior made his announcement in a social media post.
“First I would like to thank the University of Southern Mississippi for giving me an opportunity to further my education while play the sport I love,” Johnson wrote. “I would like to thank the coaches that recruited me during the time and noticing that I had the potential to be a D1 quarterback. I also would like to thank my brothers on the team for accepting me into a brother that I am very thankful for.”
After a 2-0 start last season, Fort Scott Community College was forced to forfeit three games after the use of an ineligible player, which resulted in an official 2-8 season. Fort Scott averaged 221.8 passing yards and 23.2 points per game last year.
Johnson, who had flipped his commitment from Louisville to Southern Miss, was originally rated as a four-star prospect according to ESPN and a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals. Johnson was rated the No. 20 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 18 prospect in the state of Tennessee.
