In partnership with the City of Hattiesburg Parks & Recreation, Hattiesburg Early Learning Collaborative, Hattiesburg Excel by 5, and the Library of Hattiesburg, Petal, and Forrest County, United Way of Southeast Mississippi will host a Community Literacy Day on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hattiesburg Library Children’s Department. This event invites families with children of all ages to stop by for a morning of reading, crafting, and refreshments. Local “celebrities” have volunteered to read aloud to guests. Participants will receive a free book while supplies last and will have an opportunity to sign up for a library card.
