Holding just a 2-0 lead at halftime, Oak Grove girls soccer coach Clay Smith’s message was simple – to not take the foot off the gas.

The Lady Warriors responded with four goals in the second half, which sealed Oak Grove’s 6-0 win over West Harrison and advanced the team to the second round of the 6A playoffs.

Oak Grove bounces back from first loss of season, wins Battle for the ‘Burg 89-68

Oak Grove had one goal in mind as it faced off against its rival Hattiesburg in the classic Battle of the ‘Burg matchup on Tuesday night.

That goal was to ensure that the Warriors had not lost their momentum on the season, which Oak Grove proved was not the case as they handed the Tigers an 89-68 loss.
