Since 1965, The Nature Conservancy is one of the many partners working with Camp Shelby on landscape conservation and species recovery programs. These programs help protect the ecosystems for threatened and endangered species and provide game management and public recreational hunting opportunities. The Military Conservation Partner Award was established in 2005 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
