ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College did a lot of things right against No. 2 East Mississippi in last week’s season opener.

But the Lions rallied from a 28-14, third quarter deficit and beat the Bobcats, 47-34.

JCJC head coach Steve Buckley said a blocked extra point that EMCC returned for a two-point play was a big factor.

EMCC rallies past Jones County

SCOOBA – Jones County Junior College held a 28-14 lead over No. 2 East Mississippi early in the third quarter.

But the Lions grabbed the momentum with a blocked extra point return and scored the game’s final 26 points en route to a 47-34 victory over the Bobcats here Thursday night at a windy Sullivan-Windham Field.
