Orlando May found guilty of capital murder, sentenced to life without parole

The trial of Orlando May, who shot and killed USM football player, MJ Daniels, came to a close on Thursday. May was found guilty of capital murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and taking away of a motor vehicle.

‘No Kings’ protest draws hundreds to downtown Hattiesburg

More than 300 people gathered in downtown Hattiesburg on Saturday for the “No Kings” protest as one of seven protests within the state. The protest was aimed at the current administration’s immigration enforcement, ICE raids and the perceived federal authoritarian power moves.
