Mobile, Ala.- No. 7 William Carey University dominated from start to finish as it defeated Thomas University 4-3 in non-conference action in Mobile.
The Lady Night Hawks notched the first goal of the game just 60 seconds into the match but Carey was unfazed.
The Lady Crusaders answered with goals from Kaylee Zettler (So./Meridian), Jamie Holifield (Jr./Petal), and Kelly Stubbington (Jr./Hornchurch, England) to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. It was Holifield's first goal of the season.
Stubbington would come out and score the fourth and final goal of the game for Carey in the 66th minute to essentially put the match away. Thomas added a pair of harmless goals in the final minutes but the final outcome was never in doubt.
The Lady Crusaders will be back in action on Saturday, as they take on SCAD Savannah. Kickoff is set for 1 pm in Mobile.
William Carey is now 5-0 on the season.
