There is no secret to which player the scouts are in town to see when the Forrest County AHS Aggies take the floor. Senior Ashton Campbell is a quick guard who can score double digits in a short period of time. Campbell is averaging 28.6 points per game and dropped 50 points against rival Purvis on Dec. 3. The pure shooter can hit from anywhere on the court and has a level of play that few in the area possess.
FCAHS started the season red hot as the Aggies look to make some noise during the 2019-‘20 season. Starting off 7-2 on the season, the Aggies have depth and a number of go-to players to capture a district title and make it to post-season play.
“We are in a good spot right now,” head coach Grayson Timidaiski said. “We are really young this year. We have three seniors with only one of those having game- time experience.”
Even though the Aggies lack all-around game-time experience, they have done a great job in filling the key positions on the court.
Senior Lucas Cooley is averaging 16.4 points per game. He can run the court and shoot the three-point shot really well. He also brings a defensive tone as he is averaging approximately two steals per game.
Senior Ethan Watts, who is averaging 12 points, also is a key shooter for the Aggies. He is averaging 12 points per game and five rebounds.
The main thing that makes this team good is their aggressive play on defense. As a team, the Aggies are averaging 9 steals per game, mainly due to the hard-hitting full- court traps. Once the Aggies get the steal they move the ball up the court and try and score as quickly as possible.
With three scorers having 12 points on offense and an scrappy style of defense, this Aggies’ team looks to be a force as the season continues.
