Starting this week, a panel of Associated Press state sports writers and editors, including Camal Petro of PineBeltSPORTS, vote in the Mississippi’s AP High School Poll.
After two weeks of games, there are two teams ranked in the AP Top 10, as Hattiesburg debuts at No. 3 and Oak Grove No. 9. The Warriors aren’t ranked in the 6A Top 5, but the Tigers are No. 2 in 5A behind defending 5A State Champions, West Point, which is No. 2 in the Overall Top 10.
Lumberton is ranked third in the 1A Top 5, and tied with Okolona.
Here are Mississippi's top high school football teams in each class as selected by a panel of Associated Press state sports writers.
