Oak Grove and Hattiesburg each jumped two spots in the Overall poll, coming in at No. 4 and No. 6 in the entire state, respectively. The two will meet this week in a Week 4 contest at Hattiesburg High School.
Oak Grove moved from No. 5 to No. 3 in the 6A poll, behind Pearl and Tupelo, and Hattiesburg stayed put in the second position of the 5A poll. Purvis dropped out of the 4A poll after losing to Columbia Academy, but the Tornadoes are still receiving votes.
Even after losing to 2A Heidelberg, Lumberton stays at No. 3 in the 1A poll, receiving 19 less votes than second-place Nanih Waiya.
Presbyterian Christian moves up a spot to No. 3 in the Private School poll, coming in behind Jackson Academy and Jackson Prep.
