1968 JCJC baseball team holds 50-year reunion


ELLISVILLE – Members of the 1968 Jones County Junior College baseball team were back on campus recently for a 50-year reunion.

Those players were at the JCJC vs. Southwest Mississippi doubleheader on April 4 and enjoyed food and fellowship at the games.

They threw out the first pitch and met with Bobcat players and coaches immediately afterwards.

Members of the team who came to Community Bank Park were: Jim Clark, Randy Dobson, Eddie Lee Endom, Dr. Larry Gibson, Lonnie Goddard, Johnny Harper, John Hollingsworth, Mike Sanford, Thomas Shows, David Smith, Tom Stanley, Richard Thoms and Larry Welborn.

Bobby Hill and Randy Hill were in attendance on behalf of their deceased brother, Kenny Hill. David Cooley was there on behalf of his deceased father, head coach Sim Cooley. Not able to attend were Steve Bailey, Ronnie Courtney and Noel Holston.

The event was organized by the JCJC Alumni Association.
