Southern Pines Animal Shelter is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities® to bring pets and people together at the Hattiesburg PetSmart in support of National Adoption Week, taking place July 21 – 27, 2025. To help make pet adoption more accessible and affordable for more families in our community, adoption fees for all adoptable pets will be waived all week long starting on July 21st.
“We are so grateful for the support and generosity of PetSmart Charities,” says Amanda Paris, Shelter Director of Southern Pines, “which allows us to expand our reach and find loving families for so many deserving pets, especially during the summer when shelters everywhere are at their fullest.”
Southern Pines will be at the Hattiesburg PetSmart store at different times each day of National Adoption Week, so be sure to check their Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/share/1BpThFPB6K/) for more details. All adoptions include age appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, microchip, 30 days of pet health insurance, and perks from our local PetSmart store. The reduced adoption fees include all of these essential services, making it a cost-effective and compassionate choice for those looking to expand their families with a furry friend.
“Animal shelters and rescues are doing incredible work to save pets each day, but they can’t do it without the community’s support,” said Heidi Marston, director of Pet Placement Initiatives at PetSmart Charities. “Adopting or fostering a pet can be an incredibly enriching experience and is the best way to support your local organizations. We all have a role we can play in helping pets in need, so please join us this National Adoption Week to show your support. We’re proud to work alongside partners such as Southern Pines Animal Shelter, whose team makes meaningful connections, giving more pets in need people to love.”
