Larry Altom died Sept. 19, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital. Services were Sept. 23 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Purvis Chapel with burial in Boone Cemetery with military rites performed by the VFW Post 3036.
Mr. Altom was an electrician with Trans Ocean Drilling Company.He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Altom of Purvis; his mother, Dorothy Altom of Purvis,; four daughters, Angie Stringfellow of Wiggins, Jennifer Brewer, Amy Redlin, and Toni Altom, all of Purvis; two brothers, Lewis Altom and David Altom, both of Purvis; 14 grandchildren.
Anita Barham
60, of Sumrall
Anita Barham died Sept. 24, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 26 at St. Fabian Catholic Church with burial in Roseland Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Barham was a member of St. Fabian Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Barham of Sumrall,; father and step-mother, Dempsey and Martha Lawler of Hattiesburg; two sons, Josh Barham and Brent Barham, both of Hattiesburg; three brothers, Steve Lawler and Doug Lawler, both of Hattiesburg, Tony Lawler of Clinton; three grandchildren.
Tommy Ray Berryhill Sr.
72, of Petal
Tommy Ray Berryhill Sr. died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Graveside services were Sept. 22 at Salem Cemetery in Learned.
Mr. Berryhill retired as a meat cutter at Sunflower and Corner Market.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Ray Berryhill, Jr. of Delhi, La.; one sister, Charlotte Greer of Petal; one brother, Matthew Berryhill of Petal; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Wanda Lynn Bond Breland
84 of Clinton
Wanda Lynn Bond Breland died Sept. 19, 2019. Services were Sept. 23 at Sunflower Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Breland was born on April 29, 1936, to Emmett and Edith Bond in Perkinston. After graduating from Perkinston High School, she obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught high school English in Perkinston.
Survivors include her son, John M. Breland of Clinton; two brothers, Charles Bond and Clark Bond; three sisters, Thana Bachelor, Pat Rouse and Carol Sue Diaz; and three grandchildren.
James Wallace Bryant
89, of Gulfport
James Wallace Bryant, previously of Hattiesburg, died Sept. 23, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Gulfport. Services will be at 11:30 am Sept. 27 at Moore Hattiesburg Chapel with burial in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Thursday, Sept. 26, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
Mr. Bryant was a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church and attended Seaside Chapel in Gulfport. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He also retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years. He was a member of the Mississippi Guard.
Survivors include one daughter, Renee Bryant Easterling of Wiggins; one son, Timothy James Bryant of Brandon; two brothers, Grady Bryant and Clark Bryant, both of Saraland, Ala.; three grandchildren.
Linda Gay Rodgers Dunn
64, of Hattiesburg
Linda Gay Rodgers Dunn died Sept. 19, 2019, at her home. Services were Sept. 23 at Central Christian Church of Hattiesburg with burial in the Monte Vista Baptist Church Cemetery of Eupora.
Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and a member of the Central Christian Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Benjamin Paul Dunn Jr. and Ross Flanery Dunn, both of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Charles Rodgers of Gulfport, Kim Rodgers of Hattiesburg; and one sister, Rita Rodgers of Hattiesburg.
Grady Crosby
88, of Petal
Grady “Bud” Crosby died Sept. 23, 2019. Services were Sept. 26 with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Crosby was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
He was an avid beekeeper and a member of the Mississippi Bee Association for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his son, Larry Crosby; his two daughters, Deborah Sills and Sheryl Denise Jenkins; two sisters, Margaret Virginia Orman and Eleanor Glynn Smit; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
James L. Carter Jr.
76, of Wiggins
James L. Carter Jr. died Sept. 19, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Services were Sept. 24 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial win the Ten Mile Cemetery.
Mr. Carter was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, member of Masonic Lodge #481 and also a member of Miriam Chapter #67 Order of the Eastern Star. He retired from Levi Strauss as a purchasing agent.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Carter of Wiggins; two stepdaughters, Jackie Cantr of California and Terri Swena of Utah; sister, Jackie Parker of Perkinston; brother, Mike Carter (of Perkinston and sister-in-law, Kathy Stringer of Wiggins.
Carolyn Wells Denny
of Hattiesburg
Carolyn Wells Denny died Sept. 19, 2019, at Bedford Care Center of Hattiesburg. Visitation was held at Pinehaven Funeral Home on Sept. 23rd. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Baton Rouge and a retired medical transcriptionist, Ms. Denny was born July 4, 1941.
Survivors include by her daughter, Laura Toliver, and her sister, Kathleen Wells of Hattiesburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
Perley Christie Ford
of Purvis
Perley Christine Ford died Sept. 23, 2019, at her home. Graveside services were Sept. 25 at Rock Hill Cemetery in Sumrall.
Mrs. Ford was a member of Bay Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include by her husband, James Ford Sr. of Purvis; one son, James "Pop" Ford Jr. of Purvis; two daughters, Hilda Anderson of Lumberton and Virginia Stephens of Purvis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

John L. Poole died Sept. 20, 2019, at Lemoyne Place Assisted Living in Biloxi. Graveside services were Sept. 25 at Janice Cemetery.
Mr. Poole was a welder for Ingalls Shipyard.
Survivors include his three children, Karen Ellis of Fort Lake, Gary Lee of Denham Springs, La. and Janell Jordan of Biloxi; one sister, Marie Herndon of Greene County; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Frances Gale Saenz

Frances Gale Saenz died Sept. 21, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm Friday, Sept. 27, at Trinity Episcopal Church. Visitation will begin at 11 am Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Saenz was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jose M. Saenz of Hattiesburg; one son, Joseph M. Saenz, M.D. of Madison; two brothers, Gibson Smith and David Smith both of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren.

Mr. Torrence was a retired corporate tax attorney.
