JCJC Lady Bobcats claim national softball championship

CLINTON – Jones County Junior College had finished runner-up three times in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

But the fourth time was the charm for the Lady Bobcats.

JCJC crushed Phoenix College (Arizona) 18-2 in the championship game Saturday afternoon at Traceway Park.

ELLISVILLE – The fourth-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats are headed back to the state tournament.

JCJC defeated Mississippi Gulf Coast 4-1 Saturday afternoon at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field in game two of their best-of-3 MACJC playoff series. Jones won game one on Friday, 5-2.
