Jones hires Larry Knight as new pitching coach

One of Mississippi's premier baseball minds is coming to Jones College.

Longtime successful prep coach Larry Knight has been named the new pitching coach by the Bobcats. Knight replaces Blake Beck who recently accepted a job at Tennessee Tech.

Knight will begin his duties at Jones College in October.

Big second quarter lifts No. 9 Bobcats past Southwest

ELLISVILLE – The ninth-ranked Jones College Bobcats were tied 7-7 with Southwest Mississippi after one quarter of play.

But a 28-point second quarter proved to be decisive as the Bobcats rolled to a 51-21 decision over the Bears here on a rainy Thursday night at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field.
