As 2024 draws to a close, The Salvation Army is encouraging individuals and businesses to consider year-end giving to help meet the growing needs in their communities. The support received during this critical time allows The Salvation Army to continue its life-changing work into the new year, providing food, shelter, and assistance to individuals and families facing hardship.
“The end of the year is a time of reflection, gratitude, and generosity,” said Major Fred Thornhill, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army. “For many, the holidays are joyful, but for others, they bring significant challenges. Year-end giving makes a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed not just during the holidays, but throughout the entire year.”
Donations made before December 31 are tax-deductible for the current year and go directly to helping individuals and families in need within the local community. Whether it’s providing a warm bed for someone experiencing homelessness, groceries for a family struggling to make ends meet, or resources to help individuals break the cycle of poverty, every gift has a lasting impact.
