The Pine Belt News recognizes the 2026 class of 20 Under 40. Read about Peter Rupert here and see the special section publishing on January 29 to read about all of this year's honorees.
Peter Rupert serves as the liaison to the Human Resource Department, Business Office, IT department and the Facilities Department as he bridges the gap between William Carey’s administrative suite and their medical school. He says, “Through this role I have gotten to know and work with many important people on campus which is a very special feeling after getting my undergraduate and master’s degree here. This campus is truly special and having a job in which I get to impact such a large part of our success means a lot. William Carey University’s medical school is the largest in the state and places more graduates in rural areas than any other medical school in the nation. We are really proud of what we are doing for medicine in Mississippi and look forward to continued success as we continue to grow. I am so thankful to be a part of that.”
Peter attributes his success to the qualities of discipline and intentionality. He says, “At work I hold myself to a high standard and set high expectations so I can keep pursuing excellence even if I don’t meet them. As a father I am blessed with two amazing boys. They are the reason I work hard. I want to show them what an honest, God seeking man looks like. As a husband I am gifted with an incredible wife who is always there for me.
“Seeking a disciplined lifestyle has also bled into my hobbies. As a runner trying to find personal gains in the marathon, I follow a strict diet and exercise regimen. These lifestyle choices go hand in hand in striving for discipline and intentionality in life.”
A fun fact about Peter? He is a drummer in a wedding band. When asked what advice he would give his 18-year-old self, he replies, “Never stop working hard and buy a truck. People enjoy working with someone that works hard and has a truck.”
