Purvis continues to roll

FLORENCE — The revenge tour continues for Purvis.

Behind a big second quarter and a strong rushing attack, the Tornadoes ran past Florence 41-21 in the second round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs at Eagle Stadium on Friday night.

Purvis (6-6) will host Poplarville (12-0) next week in the third round of the Class 4A playoffs.

A lot of things had to go right for the Purvis Tornadoes last Friday, but those things went right. Purvis coach Perry Wheat said his team caught “a couple of breaks,” but in the end, his players had to make plays to beat top-seeded Mendenhall in the first round of the 4A playoffs.
