DEPOSITORY FOR THE
TOWN OF SUMRALL
Bid proposal forms may be requested from City Hall 601-758-3591.NOTICE IS HEREBY given by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Sumrall to all qualified banking institutions that sealed bids will be received until 10:00 a.m. on September 22, 2020 for the privilege of keeping municipal funds for the Town of Sumrall, or any part thereof, pursuant to the provisions of Mississippi Code Annotated 1972, Sec 27-105-305 and 27-105-353 as amended. The Bids or proposals shall designate the kind of security as authorized by law, which the bidder proposes to have as security for municipal funds. Should the proposal include provisions that security for municipal funds be bonds, notes and/or liquid securities and should the proposal include bidders election to place with the State Treasurer safe keeping trust receipts for the securities in lieu of the securities themselves, the said receipts issued to the State Treasurer must be upon receipts which contain terms which are approved by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Sumrall prior to their issuance. The bid or proposal shall contain items that in no event should any bonds, note or liquid securities which are offered as security for the Town of Sumrall, municipal deposits be encumbered, assigned, or be offered as security for other funds. The term of office of municipal depository shall be for two years in accordance with Mississippi Code Ann. Sec. 27-105-363 (1972 as amended). Bid for proposals offering the best terms, having in view the safety of such funds shall be accepted. Bids or proposals should be delivered to the city clerk in the Town of Sumrall, Mississippi. Each bid received must be sealed in an envelope which is marked on the lower left-hand corner with the word “bid”, the date of the bid opening and subject matter of the bid. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen reserve the right to reject any or all bids received and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding process.
