NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE 2020 ACTION PLAN
FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG & HOME) PROGRAMS AND APPLICABLE INFORMATION
ATTENTION: ALL HATTIESBURG, MISSSISSIPPI RESIDENTS
The City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi has completed a draft of the 2020 Action Plan guiding the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A public hearing and public comment period in November and December of 2019 served to guide the direction of this document. The funds will be used to meet the primary objectives of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1974, as amended, by providing access to affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities for persons, of low and moderate-income.
The draft 2020 Action Plan is available for review on the City of Hattiesburg’s website at www.HattiesburgMS.com/community-development or in person at City Hall, 200 Forrest Street, Hattiesburg, MS between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Community Development Division or the City Clerk’s office. The City will receive public comments on the document from July 23, 2020 through August 24, 2020.
The City will consider any comments or views of citizens, agencies or units of local government received in writing. Written comments will be accepted in the Community Development Division or by email to pwingo@hattiesburgms.com through August 24, 2020. A summary of any comments or reviews accepted will be attached to the final action plan.
