Pearl River baseball has added a wealth of experience to its coaching staff with the hiring of Brooks DuBose as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator, Head Coach Michael Avalon announced Thursday afternoon.
DuBose brings experience from multiple levels of collegiate baseball as Pearl River looks to maintain its championship standard.
"We're excited to welcome Brooks DuBose as our recruiting coordinator," Avalon said. "Brooks brings experience from multiple levels of college baseball and will be in charge of our hitters and infielders. He's a perfect fit for our program, as he's highly relatable to today's players. We're confident he'll continue our success both in recruiting and on the field while maintaining high standards off the field."
DuBose began his coaching career in 2019 with the Spearfish Sasquatch, a summer league team in South Dakota. In 2020, he joined Knights Baseball, a Nashville-based travel organization, where he helped guide the program to a top-40 national ranking by Perfect Game. From there, DuBose moved on to Lee University, where he helped the Flames win the Gulf South Conference Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Division II South Regional.
"I knew my third or fourth year of college coaching was what I wanted to do," DuBose said. "Not just winning games, but making an impact in the lives of young people. Coaching has given me a great way to do that."
DuBose comes to Pearl River after serving as an assistant coach at North Alabama during the 2025 fall season. Prior to his time at UNA, he was an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans, where he helped lead the Privateers to multiple Southland Conference championship game appearances.
"To be at a place with a winning tradition like Pearl River is an honor and a privilege," DuBose said. "There are high standards here, and I don't take that for granted."
As a player, DuBose competed at the junior college, Division II, and Division III levels. He earned his degree in Sports Administration from Covenant College in 2021. He has a longtime girlfriend, Kasey Harris, who is from Pearl River, Louisiana.
