A new era: Pearl River selects Govan-Williams to lead women's basketball program

For the first time in more than a decade, the Pearl River women's basketball team will be under new leadership.

Pearl River Director of Athletics Patrick Ochs announced Friday the hire of Shanae Govan-Williams as the program's new head women's basketball coach.

Pearl River Community College will recognize the "Best of the Best" when it celebrates the 2025 induction class during the Athletics Hall of Fame banquet on July 25. The banquet is sponsored by Keith's Superstores and will be held at the Hollywood Casino & Resort in Bay St. Louis.

No. 2 Pearl River splits doubleheader with Copiah-Lincoln

The No. 2 Pearl River baseball team split a doubleheader with Copiah-Lincoln Wednesday afternoon at Dub Herring Park. Despite run-ruling game one 15-5 in seven innings, PRCC fell 7-1 in the nightcap. The game two loss was PRCC's first loss against the Wolves since May 2, 2017.

No. 14 Pearl River can't hold on at No. 4 Copiah-Lincoln

The No. 14 Pearl River softball team had the lead in each part of its road doubleheader against No. 4 Copiah-Lincoln but couldn't hold on. The Wolves took the opener 10-2 in six and the nightcap 9-2.
