The Hattiesburg Poo-cket (just for the month of April) Museum is proud to showcase an exhibit on loan from the Poozeum, a museum in Jacksonville, FL, which showcases a vast array of coprolites (fossilized dinosaur poop), and boasts to be the #1 museum for fossilized #2.
The Poozeum collection was curated by founder, George Fransden who at the age of 18 purchased his first coprolite at a shop in Moab, Utah. Since that time George has learned as much as poo-ssible about these incredible fossils. His collection of prehistoric poop is in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the largest collection of fossilized deuces, and includes specimens found in more than 16 states and 12 different countries.
The fossils of #2s tell a riveting story of what dinosaurs ate, often including partially digested bones, scales and teeth of their prey. Scientists have been able to glean piles of information about how dinosaurs lived, what they ate and how they interacted with their environment from their poo alone.
Milo, Poo-cket Museum curator, hopes visitors will enjoy learning about Dino doo, poo or #2.
