School districts across the Pine Belt are celebrating as each public school district earned A-ratings according to the Mississippi Department of Education’s Statewide Accountability System.
Forrest County Agricultural High School [District]– A
Forrest County Agricultural High School [School] maintained their B-rating and saw an increase in their overall score from 743 in 2024 to 752 in 2025. FCAHS earned increases in reading, math and history proficiency, reading growth and math growth.
Forrest County School District – A
Dixie Attendance Center maintained their A-rating and saw an overall score increase from 465 in 2024 to 484 in 2025. DAC earned increased scores in reading and science proficiency and reading growth.
Earl Travillion Attendance Center saw a major increase from an F-rating in 2024 to a C-rating in 2025, and an overall score increase from 327 in 2024 to a 332 in 2025. ETAC increased their scores in reading and science proficiency and reading and math growth.
North Forrest Attendance Center dropped from a B-rating in 2024 with an overall score of 420 to a C-rating in 2025 with an overall score of 358. NFAC did manage increases in their math proficiency and reading growth.
Rawls Springs Attendance Center maintained their B-rating from 2024 but increased their overall score from 405 in 2024 to 427 in 2025. RSAC saw increases in math proficiency and reading growth.
South Forrest Attendance Center dropped from their A-rating with an overall score of 531 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 384 in 2025. SFAC saw decreased scores in each category.
North Forrest High School dropped from an A-rating with an overall score of 764 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 620 in 2025. NFHS increased their score in history proficiency, acceleration and college and career readiness.
Hattiesburg Public School District – A
Grace Christian Elementary School maintained their B-rating with a slight overall score decrease from 437 in 2024 to 430 in 2025. GCES earned increased scores in math and reading growth.
Hattiesburg STEAM Academy dropped from a B-rating with an overall score of 396 in 2024 to a C-rating with an overall score of 375 in 2025. HAS did see increases in reading proficiency and reading growth.
Hawkins Elementary School dropped from an A-rating with an overall score of 518 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 397 in 2025. HES earned an increase in English learner progress.
NR Burger Middle School maintained their B-rating with a decrease in overall score from 425 in 2024 to 391 in 2025. NRBMS did increase their scores in reading proficiency and reading growth.
Rowan Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a score increase from 506 in 2024 to 522 in 2025. RES earned increases in reading and math low growth.
Thames Elementary School dropped from their A-rating and overall score of 479 in 2024 to a C-rating with an overall score of 366 in 2025. TES saw decreased scores in each category.
Woodley Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in their overall score of 479 in 2024 to 444 in 2025. WES increased their scores in math low growth and English learner progress.
Hattiesburg High School maintained their B-rating with an overall score decrease from 748 in 2024 to a 739 in 2025. HHS increased their score in reading and math proficiency, math growth and English learner progress.
Lamar County School District – A
Baxterville School maintained their A-rating with an increase in their overall score from 451 in 2024 to 465 in 2025. BS increased their scores in reading and math proficiency and reading growth.
Bellevue Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in their overall score from 479 in 2024 to 471 in 2025. BES increased their math proficiency, math growth, reading low growth and English learner progress.
Longleaf Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in their overall score from 463 in 2024 to 449 in 2025. LES increased their scores in reading and math low growth.
Lumberton Elementary School dropped from a C-rating with an overall score of 367 in 2024 to a D-rating with an overall score of 315 in 2025. LES increased their scores in reading and science proficiency and reading growth.
Lumberton High School maintained their C-rating with an increase in overall score from 554 in 2024 to 567 in 2025. LHS increased their score in reading and science proficiency, math growth, acceleration and college and career readiness.
Oak Grove Elementary School maintained their A-rating with an overall score decrease from 485 in 2024 to 450 in 2025. OGES raised their scores in math and science proficiency and math growth.
Oak Grove Middle School maintained their B-rating with an overall score decrease from 430 in 2024 to 406 in 2025. OGMS increased their scores in reading low growth and English learner progress.
Oak Grove High School maintained their A-rating with an overall score increase from 788 in 2024 to 806 in 2025. OGHS increased their score in reading, math, and science proficiency, reading and math growth, English learner progress and acceleration.
Purvis Lower Elementary dropped from a B-rating with an overall score of 394 in 2024 to a D-rating with an overall score of 273 in 2025. PLE saw decreased scores in each category.
Purvis Upper Elementary dropped from a B-rating with an overall score of 390 in 2024 to a C-rating with an overall score of 350 in 2025. PUE increased their scores in science proficiency.
Purvis Middle School dropped from an A-rating with an overall score of 473 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 402 in 2025. PMS increased their score in reading low growth.
Purvis High School dropped from an A-rating with an overall score of 779 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 743 in 2025. PHS increased their score in math and science proficiency and reading low growth.
Sumrall Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in overall score from 507 in 2024 to 458 in 2025. SES saw decreased scores in each category.
Sumrall Middle School dropped from an A-rating with an overall score of 470 in 2024 to a B-rating with an overall score of 434 in 2025. SMS increased their score in science proficiency and reading growth.
Sumrall High School maintained their A-rating with an increase in their overall score of 789 in 2024 to 795 in 2025.
Petal School District – A
Petal Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a slight decrease in overall score from 509 in 2024 to 503 in 2025. PES increased their score in math proficiency and math growth.
Petal Primary School maintained their A-rating with an overall score decrease from 540 in 2024 to 518 in 2025. PPS increased their score in math proficiency and math growth.
Petal Upper Elementary School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in their overall score from 482 in 2024 to 471 in 2025. PUES increased their score in reading proficiency, reading growth and English learner progress.
Petal Middle School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in their overall score from 517 in 2024 to 459 in 2024. PMS increased their score in reading low growth.
Petal High School maintained their A-rating with a decrease in overall score from 854 in 2024 to 834 in 2025. PHS increased their score in history proficiency, reading low growth, acceleration and college and career readiness.
