Forrest and Perry counties District Attorney Lin Carter announced that two Assistant District Attorneys in his office were recently elected to leadership roles within the Mississippi Prosecutors Association.
Last week at the annual conference of the MPA, Assistant District Attorney Bryan Buckley was elected President of the Association, having previously served as Vice President and Treasurer. Assistant District Attorney Clay Cranford was elected Treasurer.
The MPA is a state-wide organization, made up of all the District Attorneys, Assistant District Attorneys, the Attorney General and Assistant Attorney Generals, as well as all Justice Court and Municipal Court prosecutors in the state of Mississippi. MPA members also include all Investigators and Victim Assistance Coordinators of the District Attorneys offices.
“I am very proud of the work accomplished by my office and prosecutors these past four years, and to see that hard work recognized by having Bryan and Clay overwhelmingly elected as President and Treasurer in the MPA by their peers is extremely gratifying," said District Attorney Lin Carter.
The mission of the MPA is to foster and maintain a culture of honor and integrity among prosecuting attorneys within the state of Mississippi and to promote and facilitate the continuing study of law, dissemination of knowledge, and practical training within the Association.
“Bryan and Clay will do an excellent job in these leadership roles and Forrest and Perry counties should be thankful to have such professional, dedicated prosecutors working for them,” said Carter.
