Are you interested in playing a character in the Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Dinner Theater to be presented Feb. 7, 2019?
The Petal Arts Council is currently looking for creative people who would like to be a part of this spectacular party that guests will remember for many years to come. This will be a scholarship fundraiser for the arts council, but it also promises to be a lot of fun!
Murder mystery parties are essentially a combination of improvisational acting, storytelling and creative problem solving – not a traditional script - no rehearsals. Characters will assume the role, dress the part, and play the part of that character throughout the evening. At some point during the dinner, something mysterious will occur that will force partygoers to come together in order to solve the murder of one of the characters. They will need to use the information that the characters know (as well as additional clues) to solve the mystery identity of the murderer. Guests will be provided an opportunity to vote on the best actor/actress, the best dressed character, and who committed the dastardly deed.
This particular mystery party is a murder mystery wherein the characters are guests or employees of Marshall Inglewood at a Mardi Gras party at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion (actually Rose Oaks located in Petal).
The following is a list of characters available:
The Governor, The Queen Bee, The Sheriff, The Deputy, The New Man, The Club Owner, The Bouncer
One of these characters may be the victim and one may be the murderer. None of the characters will know who is which.
The Petal Arts Council wants to hear from you if you are interested in playing one of these characters. Contact the council at petalartscouncil@gmail.com.
