The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its Division II Pitcher of the Week award, and Pearl River's Ana-Grace Garcia (Baton Rouge, La.; St. Joseph's) snatched the honor.
The right-hander had a pair of complete-game efforts in ranked matchups against No. 7 Jones College and No. 11 Northeast. She fired seven innings of one-run softball with eight strikeouts to begin the week against the Bobcats. She followed up the tremendous outing by adding a six-strikeout, two-run game against the Tigers.
Garcia ended the week with a 1.50 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. She struck out a batter per inning, tallying 14 strikeouts in her 14 innings of work. Garcia has a record of 14-4 this year, and her ERA is a stellar 2.75. She has punched out 152 in 122 innings pitched as the Wildcats enter postseason play.

The Wildcats are the 6-seed in the upcoming Region 23 Tournament and will open the postseason against 3-seed LSU Eunice Sunday at 6 p.m. The matchup will be held at Jones College in Ellisville.
